I should probably start with an introduction. My name is Holls, though many know me by my artist name, Pine Bones. I’m an illustrator based in the remote Four Corners region of the country, and if you’re reading this, it means you’ve signed up for my newsletter at some point <3 I’m so incredibly grateful for your support.
I’ll be honest, words aren’t my strength. Communication has always been a challenge for me, and I don’t write as often as I should. So, to be real, I’m a bit out of practice and feeling anxious about starting. But here I am, and I’m determined to create a space where I can be more intentional, more real, and more in-depth about my creative journey. I want to share the thoughts and experiences that live in my mind—not just let them float around.
Starting Between the Moon & Marrow isn’t just about sending out a newsletter—it’s about building a community.
I’m inviting you to join me in a space where we can connect, share, and grow together. It’s a place where I’ll be opening up about my life as an artist, sharing what inspires me, and giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at my creative process.
These letters won’t just be about updates—they’ll be about building a deeper, more meaningful connection with you, my supporters. You’ll get a mix of content, including works in progress, sketchbook scans, photographs, new art supplies I’m experimenting with, and the thoughts and experiences I don’t typically share on social media. It’s a space where I can share things that were once behind a Patreon paywall or simply too personal to post publicly.
I’ll keep you in the loop with shop updates, new art releases, and secret sales just for you.
While some content will remain exclusive to paid subscribers, my ultimate goal is to create a place where you can get to know me more authentically—and where you can be part of my creative process. As a thank you, I’ll be releasing a special edition print each quarter, along with other exclusive surprises that will only be available to, Paid Subscribers.

This first print will be an 5x7 piece, available for pre-order at a pretty discounted rate compared to my usual print prices. I’m opting for pre-orders to help reduce my carbon footprint and cut down on material waste. I’ll be ordering a few extras, but the pre-order will be your chance to get it first!
Now that I’ve shared a bit about what this space will be and my goal for it, I want to say how grateful I am to have you here, I’m truly excited to see where all of this takes me. Honestly, I’m treating this space more like a journaling and creative writing project than a “traditional newsletter.
